Logline:
Amidst the turmoil of the war, 14-year-old Jana and her mother flee Ukraine and seek refuge in Poland. Jana finds solace and support in her relationship with Zosia, which gradually turns into a romantic affection. While Jana is discovering her sexuality, her brother’s unexpected arrival uncovers family secrets, causing upheaval in their relationships. Together, they navigate the challenges of a war-torn world, confronting emotions and obstacles that threaten to separate them.

Katarzyna Lesisz

Katarzyna Lesisz graduated in film directing from the Lodz Film School and studied sociology at the University of Warsaw. She has directed several short films, including “Dancing for You” (2018), which won the main prize for Best Children’s Documentary in the Kids&Doc Competition at IDFA.
For the past three years, Katarzyna Lesisz has been tutoring at “LET’S DOC. Documentary Ideas Laboratory,” a development program at the Andrzej Wajda Center for Film Culture. Before her maternity leave, she directed over sixty episodes of a popular Polish television soap opera.

Karolina Śmigiel

Karolina Śmigiel is a film producer. Since 2015, she has been a board member of UNI-SOLO Studio, where she produced the documentary “The Dragon Spring” and co-produced the documentaries “Out from the Shadows” and “The End of the Valley of Tears”. She is the author and program coordinator of “Let’s Doc”, the program that aims to develop documentary production for a young audience in Poland. She lectures at the Warsaw Film School. She is Emerging Producers 2022 (by IDF Ji.hlava).
